Claremont Neighborhood Association

Welcome to the Claremont Neighborhood and to our neighborhood association, whose goal is to enhance the quality of life for all 3,600 residents of our corner of Boston's South End, with its extraordinary history, exemplary architecture, and beautiful parks and community gardens.

We are one of the oldest neighborhood associations in the City of Boston, and each year we host a series of events, including our June street fair, September neighborhood barbeque and picnic, and annual holiday party in December.

Additionally, we represent the neighborhood at City Hall hearings, lobby on issues of concern to our residents (trash, crime, park maintenance) participate in City permitting and licensing processes, and coordinate with other neighborhood associations and with the Mayor's office.

We hope you will join with us in ensuring that the streets in which we all live remain safe, diverse, congenial, and maintain their historic integrity. Become a member of the Claremont Neighborhood Association now!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OUR NEIGHBORS AND WARM WISHES FOR A SAFE AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR.

Special thanks go out to Fabian D'Souza and Jim Gronemus, who hosted our annual Holiday Party on December 15 at their home on Wellington Street, and to our neighborhood singers, led by Boston Pops performers, Carey Erdman and Carl Kraenzel, accompanied on the keyboard by co-president Rebecca Wettemann.

The Claremont Neighborhood Association (CNA) was founded in 1945 and is the second oldest neighborhood association in the South End, and one of the oldest in Boston.

It consists of the 14 blocks bounded by West Newton Street, Camden Street, Southwest Corridor Park and the median of Tremont Street.

Today, residents of the Claremont neighborhood reflect a microcosm of the diversity of Boston: single, married, old, young, gay, straight, ethnically diverse, students, professionals and retired.
